Inderjeet Singh makes India proud – Wins First Ever Gold at World University Games

Inderjeet Singh, a 27 year old left handed shot-putter from Bhiwani created history by becoming the 1st Indian ever to win a Gold Medal at the World University Games in Gwanju, South Korea.
He had committed a foul in his first attempt. But then, he covered a distance of 20.27 metres in the final throw which bagged him the Gold medal.
He has had a fantastic 2015 so far, bagging 5 gold medals so far in all the five international events he participated.
The Haryana shot-putter had recently won a gold at the Asian Athletics Grand Pix Series in Bangkok on 22 June. He had also won a gold at Asian Athletics Championships in Wuhan, Bangkok this year with a throw of 20.41 meter which is a new championship record.
He has already qualified for the Rio Olympics in 2016 and the country has high hopes from him.
Inderjeet Singh had lost his father when he was a child. But this didnt let him down. He came back strongly to become one of the best athlete the country has ever produced.
Team Admirable India salutes Inderjeet Singh for his tremendous achievement and his passion towards the sport. We wish him luck for the Rio Olympics. May he bring more and more laurels to the nation.
