Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to launch his pet project ‘Digital India’ on 1st July at 4pm which will be telecasted LIVE on DD channels.
Digital India is an initiative of Government of India which aims at ensuring that government services are made available to the citizens electronically by eliminating paperwork.
PM Modi will urge people to gain knowledge, acquire skills and empower themselves through the Digital India campaign.
This is a dream project of our PM which is centered mainly on three key areas :
– Digital infrastructure as a utility to every common man
– Governance and services on demand
– Digital empowerment of citizens
As a part of Digital India, the government has already launched or about to launch some initiatives such as :-
– Digital Locker System which aims to minimize the usage of physical documents.
– mygov.in portal which empowers citizens with a platform to engage in governance
– Swacch Bharat Mission (SBM) Mobile App
– eSign framework would allow citizens to sign a document electronically through Aadhar Card
– BSNL has taken up initiative to install free Wifi Hotspots throughout the country
